Keep current with the courts and our legal community

• Our monthly newsletter, The Barrister, keeps you up-to-date on AABA happenings, court news, career opportunities and more.
• The annual AABA Membership Directory, provides current contact information and photos of our members, as well as county and state agency contacts.

 

Expand your legal knowledge and expertise

• Our continuing legal education (CLE) programs, offered in partnership with the Legal Studies Institute at Anne Arundel Community College, allow you to explore emerging legal topics.
• Committees give you opportunities to learn from and network with other professionals in your practice area(s).

 

Build your practice with our Lawyer Referral Service

• Members can join the Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) panel, which receives about 150 calls each month from clients seeking legal assistance.
 

Connect with colleagues outside of the office or courtroom

• To enhance the camaraderie of our legal community, we host regular social events, including an annual Barristers’ Ball, trivia nights, and a biennial Bar Weekend.
• Each year, our legendary, free, all-you-can-eat AABA Crab Feast is attended by hundreds of members.
• Our softball league, bowling league and golf tournaments give you a chance to meet new colleagues through friendly competition.
