The Sheriff's Office is changing the look of all employees' and attorneys' pass cards. This is to update security measures getting into the Circuit Courthouse.
The AABA received the following information from the Sheriff's Office:
The Sheriff's Office is changing the look of all employees' and attorneys' pass cards and will use the following process to replace all pass cards for the Circuit Courthouse.
On Wednesdays, when an attorney shows their card to bypass the magnetometer at the front door of the court house, the Deputy at the security checkpoint will take their current card and direct them to the Security Bureau where they will be issued a new card immediately. The new card has a very different look, which will help the deputies at the check point better assist the attorney in getting by the security machine.
The Sheriff's Office will take the cards from attorneys entering only on Wednesdays, as we don't have the manpower to provide a new card every day due to manpower. On all other days (Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Friday), attorneys will be able to use their current pass cards and deputies will not take or replace pass cards.
Please remember that no attorney is losing their pass card entry privileges We hope to make this an easy transaction and a quick change to the new cards.Thank you in advance for helping the Sheriff's office in this matter.
