The AABA Law Day Committee is seeking volunteers to speak in Anne Arundel County public schools about this year's Law Day theme, The 14th Amendment: Transforming American Democracy.
The AABA once again will join the American Bar Association (ABA) and other bar associations nationwide in celebrating Law Day. On Law Day, attorney volunteers across the country participate in outreach programs designed to educate and inspire the public about important areas of law that lift up the quality of life for all Americans.
Law Day is officially May 1. The AABA plans to hold its Law Day programs in local public schools on May 17. The theme of this year's Law Day, The 14th Amendment: Transforming American Democracy, provides an opportunity for members to help students to better understand the Citizenship, Due Process and Equal Protection clauses of this transformative amendment and how it works in our legal system.
Members who are interested in giving a presentation at a school should contact Law Day Chair Marot Hoskins at sahosk00@aacounty.org or 410-222-1740, ext. 3842. To learn more about the theme and Law Day, take a look at the ABA Law Day website. Volunteers will have access to Power Point presentations as support materials for the educational sessions.
Please show your support for the AABA and the community by volunteering your time!
